Summary of Neighborhood Projects by Faith-Based Organizations (July 2008)
Without Walls Christian Center (December 11, 2009), 2542 West Warner Rd., Chandler, 4th annual Christmas Extravaganza. Each child got at least 3 quality toys. There were also approx. 30 new bicycles, a pallet of skateboards, a pallet of razor scooters, face painting, popcorn, cotton candy and hot chocolate. The toys went to a total of 974 children representing 349 families. We also gave out 500 food bags and a pallet of water. When some of our volunteers arrived at 3:00am there were already people sleeping in there cars and on the sidewalk around the church so they could be first in line. One lady who had adopted 8 children between 3 and 14 years old began to cry (tears of joy) because she didn’t think she would have any presents for the children this yearHope Covenant Church: (April 2006) - Cleaned up empty lots within the downtown area of Chandler. More than 50 volunteers offered their time and services to assist in this effort and over six vacant lots were cleaned.
